This is a short course in basic forming and fabrication skills using pewter sheet and wire. Seaming by fusing and soldering will be taught as well as forming by raising and sinking. There will be some simple casting, tool making; scoring and folding and finishing techniques discussed and demonstrated. Examples of finished pewter will be on hand. Books and handouts will be in the studio at all times. There will be extensive demonstrations backed up by slides and examples of work.

We will be making functional table-ware, cups, bowls, salt and pepper shakers, candle sticks, serving pieces, ect. Basic jewelry skills and tools will be most helpful. Everything you will be asked to do will be clearly demonstrated.
