General Meeting

General Meeting

Members at the General MeetingThe Seattle Metals Guild General Meeting takes place in January or early February of each year. This is the time to elect new board members, make general announcements, receive a financial report and present awards. During this meeting, the Guild also presents its Lifetime Achievement Award to an outstanding member of our diverse community. Awardees enlighten us with their stories and offer insight, inspiration and often some good laughs. Past awardees include Karen Lorene, Mia Mackledowny, Harold Balazs, Ron Ho, Mary Lee Hu and Hellyn Paula.

General Meeting SpeakerA social gathering follows the General Meeting, offering SMG members the opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new ones and generally enjoy the exchange of ideas that naturally flow from being together. Tasty treats and beverages are also provided.

Next General Meeting:

Mark your calendars (again) so you’re sure not to miss this fun and informative evening of culture, politics and food! Rock Hushka, Director of Curatorial Administration and Curator of Contemporary and Northwest Art at the Tacoma Arts Museum, will introduce our lifetime achievement recipient. This year we are honored to give our award to Flora Book!  We will also elect new officers to the board, socialize and game plan for our future over tasty refreshments.
