The Seattle Metals Guild is a volunteer operated organization. Every project, workshop, and event is produced by volunteers. The database management, website maintenance, and bookkeeping are all maintained by volunteers as well. We can’t run this organization without you! The strength of the Seattle Metals Guild and the community of artists in our area flourishes through your participation. Friendships and networks are forged around committee tables and whilst helping with the heavy lifting. Won’t you join us?

Guild Fest Program Lead
Lead the vision and experience of the Guild’s annual community event.
Guild Fest is an opportunity to bring members together in a high-energy, participatory format. This role focuses on shaping the concept, coordinating contributors, and guiding the event from idea to execution.
What you’ll do:
Define the overall vision and format for Guild Fest
Recruit and coordinate a small team of contributors/volunteers
Build a simple timeline and plan for execution
Collaborate with the Board and Communications team for support
Oversee event flow and experience
Time commitment: ~3–6 hours/month (heavier in 1–2 months leading up to event)
Term: Event-based (annual cycle)

Grants Program Lead
Shape and run the Guild’s annual grant program for members.
The Grants Program Lead is responsible for administering the Seattle Metals Guild’s annual grants program and helping it grow into a strong, valued member benefit. This person guides the full cycle of the program, from planning and application design through review, selection, and follow-up.
What you’ll do:
Oversee the annual grants program calendar and process
Refine guidelines, application materials, and review criteria
Coordinate the call for applications and applicant communications
Recruit and support committee members or reviewers
Facilitate a fair, organized review and selection process
Coordinate notifications, documentation, and next steps
Help evaluate and strengthen the program from year to year
Time commitment: Seasonal; approximately 3–5 hours/month on average, with greater involvement during the active grant cycle
Term: 1 year

Lecture Series Program Lead
Shape the Guild’s voice through talks, ideas, and shared knowledge.
The Lecture Series Program Lead curates and produces a small series of talks each year featuring artists, educators, and industry voices. This role focuses on creating engaging, accessible programming that brings members together around ideas, process, and practice.
What you’ll do:
Curate 4–6 talks annually (mix of member and invited speakers)
Coordinate basic logistics (schedule, format, light speaker coordination)
Host or co-host events (online or in-person)
Collaborate on promotion with the Communications team
Time commitment: ~3–5 hours/month (seasonal)
Term: 1 year (flexible)

Is comfortable organizing simple events
Mentorship Program Lead
Build meaningful one-on-one connections within the Guild.
Following a successful pilot, the Mentorship Program Lead will shape and grow a structured mentorship program connecting emerging and established artists.
What you’ll do:
Refine the existing mentorship model (based on pilot learnings)
Recruit and match 6–12 mentor/mentee pairs
Set a simple structure (timeline, check-ins, expectations) leveraging our online community space
Facilitate 1–2 group touch points during the program
Gather feedback to improve future cycles
Time commitment: ~3–4 hours/month (during active cycles)
Term: 4–6 month program cycle (renewable)
